BentoMoney 1.1.0 — Weekly Views, Widgets, and Romanian

BentoMoney 1.1.0 is out. This is the biggest update since launch, and it moves the app in two directions at once: more ways to see your money, and a second language.

Here's what's new.

Weekly and monthly views

Weekly Breakdown - BentoMoney

Until now, BentoMoney answered one question: what can I spend today. That's still the point. But sometimes you want to zoom out — see the week, see the month. Now you can. Swipe between today, this week, and this month right from the main screen.

Home-screen widgets

Your safe-to-spend number now lives on your home screen. Weekly and monthly widgets too. Tap one and it jumps you straight to the matching card in the app. No opening, no tapping around. You glance, you know.

Romanian

BentoMoney now speaks Romanian. Not just the buttons — everything. Onboarding, categories, the quotes, the search. Search even ignores diacritics, so "cafea" finds "cafeá." If you know someone who'd rather budget in Romanian than English, now they can.

This one's personal. It came out of a conversation with someone who runs money management seminars for Romanian communities abroad. Felt like the right thing to build.

A redesigned Today screen

Cleaner cards. A new weekly budget card. Smoother animations when your numbers flip over. Small stuff, but it's the screen you look at every day, so small stuff matters.

Currency, done properly

All 132 currencies now format correctly — the symbol sits where it should for each one. If you switched currencies before and something looked off, it's fixed.

Plus the usual

Better subscription handling, a redesigned rating prompt that doesn't nag, streak badges, and a pile of bug fixes. Including one weird one where the placeholder text would get its letter-spacing scrambled after you backgrounded the app. Gone now.

BentoMoney is still what it always was. No bank login. No cloud. Your money stays on your phone. It just does a bit more of it now, in two languages.
