Introduction

BentoMoney ("the App") is a personal finance and spending tracker application developed by Radu Negrean ("Developer," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains our data practices and your privacy rights.

Our core commitment: BentoMoney is designed from the ground up to protect your privacy. We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to any of your personal or financial data.

Information We Do Not Collect

BentoMoney operates as a completely offline, privacy-first application. We want to be explicit about what we do NOT collect:

Personal identifiers: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, usernames, or any other identifying information.
Financial information: We do not collect bank account numbers, credit card information, transaction histories, income details, or any financial data you enter into the App.
Device information: We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, hardware specifications, or operating system information.
Location data: We do not collect GPS coordinates, IP-based location, or any other location information.
Usage analytics: We do not collect information about how you use the App, which features you access, session duration, or interaction patterns.
Behavioral data: We do not track, profile, or analyze your behavior within the App or across other applications.
Advertising identifiers: We do not collect advertising IDs or participate in any advertising tracking.

How Your Data Is Stored

All financial information, budgets, transactions, categories, and preferences you enter into BentoMoney are stored exclusively on your device using a local SQLite database. This means:

Your data never leaves your device
Your data is never transmitted to any server
Your data is never accessible to us, the Developer
Your data is never shared with any third party
The App functions completely offline without any internet connection

You have complete control over your data. You can export your data at any time using the App's export feature, and you can delete all data by using the in-app reset options or by uninstalling the App.

In-App Purchases and Payment Processing

BentoMoney is free to use for 7 days. After the trial period, continued access to the App requires a purchase through Apple's App Store. When you make a purchase:

All payment processing is handled exclusively by Apple. We never receive, process, store, or have access to your payment card details, billing address, or other payment information.
We receive only purchase confirmation. Apple notifies us that a valid purchase or subscription exists, but does not share your personal payment details with us.
Apple's privacy practices govern payment data. Your payment information is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Subscription management is handled by Apple. To manage or cancel subscriptions, visit your Apple Account Settings.

Third-Party Services

BentoMoney does not integrate any third-party services, including:

Analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.)
Crash reporting services (Crashlytics, Sentry, Bugsnag, etc.)
Advertising networks or ad tracking
Social media integrations
Cloud storage or synchronization services
Customer support chat widgets
A/B testing platforms

The only third-party involvement is Apple's App Store for distribution and payment processing, which operates under Apple's own privacy policies and terms.

Data Security

Because we do not collect or store your data on any servers, your data security depends entirely on your device's security. We recommend:

Enabling device encryption (enabled by default on iOS)
Using a strong passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID
Keeping your device's operating system updated
Not sharing your device passcode with others

In the unlikely event of a security vulnerability in the App itself, we will promptly release an update and notify users through the App Store update notes.

Children's Privacy

BentoMoney is a general audience application and is not specifically directed at children under 13 years of age. However, because we collect absolutely no personal information from any user of any age, we do not process, store, or have access to children's data.

Parents and guardians should be aware that any financial data a child enters into the App remains stored locally on the device and is not transmitted to us or any third party.

We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by virtue of collecting no data whatsoever.

International Users and Regional Privacy Rights

BentoMoney is available worldwide. Because we collect no personal data, many data protection regulations' specific requirements do not apply. However, we want to address your rights transparently:

The General Data Protection Regulation grants EU residents specific rights regarding personal data. Because BentoMoney collects no personal data:

Right to Access: There is no personal data held by us to access.
Right to Rectification: There is no personal data held by us to correct.
Right to Erasure: There is no personal data held by us to delete. You can delete all local App data by uninstalling the App.
Right to Data Portability: You can export your locally-stored data using the App's export feature.
Right to Object: We perform no data processing to object to.

No data is transferred outside your device, so no international data transfers occur.

California (CCPA/CPRA)

The California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act grant California residents specific rights. Because BentoMoney collects no personal information:

Right to Know: We collect no personal information.
Right to Delete: We hold no personal information to delete. Uninstall the App to remove all local data.
Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell personal information because we collect none.
Right to Non-Discrimination: We do not discriminate based on privacy choices.

We do not sell, share, or disclose personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration.

Other U.S. State Privacy Laws

Various U.S. states have enacted comprehensive privacy laws, including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and others. BentoMoney's zero-data-collection model means we comply with these laws by default, as there is no personal data to regulate.

Other International Jurisdictions

For users in jurisdictions with data protection laws (including but not limited to Canada's PIPEDA, Brazil's LGPD, Australia's Privacy Act, and others): Because we collect no personal data, your information remains entirely within your control on your local device.

Data Retention

We retain no user data because we collect no user data.

Data you enter into the App is stored locally on your device until you choose to delete it through the App's settings or by uninstalling the App. We have no ability to access, retrieve, or delete your locally-stored data.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make changes:

The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy will be revised.
For material changes that affect your rights, we will provide notice through App Store update notes.
Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Do Not Track Signals

Because BentoMoney does not track users in any way, Do Not Track browser signals are not applicable to our App.
